It’s hard not to think of love when February rolls around–especially if you’re single. Not only are you bombarded with the month’s commercialism, but it’s also prime time to remember the times we’ve drowned ourselves in love. That’s when you start missing it, wanting it, and hoping for it.

There’s two types stages of love when in a relationship, I believe: The first type is when you’ve been with someone for an extended period of time. You’d give your arm, leg, kidney, and last dollar for them, even though the fire and spark that got you to this point is only lit on special occasions.

But, let’s talk about the other type of love: The ‘I think about you all day, I can’t wait to see you again, I feel silly, thank you for being so cute’ type of love.

The type of love that has you so high off happiness that not enough drugs or alcohol in your system can top the feeling.

And there’s the period in the beginning, where you want to know every possible thing about the other person, and that you can’t get enough of.  There’s something about the start of something new that makes the journey so exhilarating. The nerves. The euphoria. The fear. The thoughts running like Usain Bolt, from the depths of your brain through every cell in your body; you just want to explode. And, depending on the connection, the fireworks can be the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks above the East River or the fire crackers down the block that never seem to end.

Regardless, it’s a feeling we all strive to achieve. The electricity when you think, see, smell, and touch that special person. The warmth you feel even when you’re not with them.

I put together the audio version of that type of love, the type of love that makes you want to lock it up.

Sidebar: If you have a significant other, take the time to say you appreciate them. Tell them how lucky you are to have them in your life. Don’t take any day you spend with them for granted. Thank them for shooting the shot with you.
