Static (Poem)

Words by John Noire.

Static. It’s what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. It’s what happens when you’re halfway through your 20s and still don’t know what to do with the rest of your life.

Static. It’s when you’re living as three people at once: who you were, who you are, and who you want to become–the ultimate balancing act. One wrong move can be the difference between success and failure, but you have to make a move. Just move.

I love myself

I hate myself

I love myself

I hate myself

Life or death, choose one

Static

She wants to leave

He wants to stay

She wants to stay

He wants to leave

Love and miscommunication

Static

I know everything

I know nothing

Scared of the future

Haunted by the past

Stuck in the present

Static
